Character Info
Name: Serval (the Serval Cat)
Canon: Kemono Friends
Age: Nobody really seems to know; Friends are born at and apparently stay at a vague age range that's probably around 15, and they can live for thousands of years; season 1 implied that she was younger than 100 but season 2 (which was awful and peppered with retcons out of spite for the first season and its fans, so no one acknowledges it, but still) goes the other way, insinuating that she's older than the rest. I'm just throwing my hands up here.
Canon Point: Post-season 1

History: https://japari-library.com/wiki/Serval/Anime
Personality:
Optimistic: Serval greets everything with a smile and is eager to discover new things and see how much fun will come of them. Minor inconveniences never get her down and she has little to no concept of fear of the unknown, and she's happy to encourage others as well. She doesn't usually worry too much, and even when she does and things get serious, she never seems to lose hope. If everyone and everything tells her that what she's doing is a lost cause, she still holds to it and believes they can still pull off a miracle.

Supportive: Friendly, open, and excitable, Serval is a dependable and lovable ally to have in large part because she believes in you no matter who you are. Even in the first episode, while Hippo focuses on what Kaban can't do and concludes that she must be a load because she seems so helpless, Serval is certain, and correct, that Kaban must have her own strengths, and she quickly picks up on those as they come up and tells her about them.

Curious: While Serval was initially happy to live in the same place doing the same things her whole life, once the opportunity arose to explore the rest of the region and possibly the whole of Japari Park, she leapt into it with a smile. Every new thing is amazing to her and she wants to see all the world has to offer as she's helping out the people she and Kaban come across. Discovering new things energizes her like nothing else, and she wants to share that happiness with everyone.

Naive: Serval had never left the Savannah Area before the series (despite her reputation preceding her, possibly conflating her with Mirai's Serval), and everything always seems brand new to her. She trusts everyone right away, never thinking that they might be using her (like the owls in the library withholding information they already knew so that Kaban could make them lunch) and always thinking people should just learn to get along. The worlds of darker series will be completely alien to her. Girl lives in a post-apocalypse and barely even realizes it because it's all she's ever known.

Singleminded: When something important is on the line, Serval won't take no for an answer. This can be good, and it often is when she's helping others in a group, but combined with how she isn't generally the sort to come up with a plan besides the most direct solution, even if it's dangerous or they've tried it already, it leads either to catastrophic failure or to people thinking of her as a troublemaker and shutting her down. Serval's determination can be a good thing when she's paired with other people who can be the brains of the operation and come up with a plan to see through; in canon this is usually Kaban, or in one instance, Lucky Beast. Because of this, since she's got the determination but not the planning ability to make that determination work, before Kaban came along, Serval had a reputation for getting herself into trouble.

No Thoughts Head Empty: Serval doesn't really know a lot, and she admits that. Despite always being curious about new things, when she does get explanations, her usual response is along the lines of "I don't get it" and reiterating whatever the problem is in a childish manner. (In response to a bus breaking down and having no battery power, when Serval has little to no concept of vehicles, technical difficulties, or batteries: "Does that mean we can't play?") She kind of accepts her role as not the brains of the outfit a little too easily.
Abilities: Serval's Friend abilities follow what a regular wildcat can do: she specializes in climbing trees, chasing and clawing enemies, lifting more than you'd think she could (she can lift the cab of the bus at one point, and she flings Kaban and Lucky Beast out of the path of the Cerulean in the climax of S1), and jumping high and far. In exchange, what she can't do are special human abilities; she's not dextrous enough to fold paper or open a flyer box or bear-proof trash can, doesn't recover energy as quickly as a human can, avoids fire, and cannot read.

As well, she can activate her "Wild Side" for a temporary powerup, which makes her eyes and/or claws glow when attacking. This was a game mechanic that carried over to the show and wasn't really explained, but works in short bursts in dangerous situations. She also trails iridescent Sandstar residue when using this or attacking, but that doesn't seem to have any actual purpose.

Item Regains:
-Japari Buns: A pack of buns filled with all the nutrients any species needs. (Renewable, with additional flavour text:)
--These cream-coloured ones taste like curry and cheese.
--These dark brown ones taste like chocolate and rum.
--These yellow ones taste like cabbage and mushroom.
--These pink ones taste like... ramune?????
-Pom-pom Tree: One of those cat trees with a pillar to climb or scratch and a dangling pom-pom to bat... but it's human-sized?
-Paper Airplane: Folded out of a yellowed tourism pamphlet for someplace called Japari Park.
-Ticket Stub: A folded-up ticket stub for a concert by some group called "Penguins Performance Project." Must have been a fun time!
-Supply Bag: A big grey sack, as tall as a person, for all your luggage and rations... which all seem to have fallen out of it, because it's empty.
Physical Form: A and B are technically the same option for Serval, so let's keep her the way she is.

Title: Friendly Sidekick
Extra notes: There have been a lot of Servals throughout the franchise, who all look identical and act mostly the same, but this is specifically the anime's Serval as shown in season 1 (let's not talk about 2 and 3).
